Memorial Beads and Talismans - Incorporating Cremated Remains

In mid-2019 I was honored to be asked to create a series of memorial pieces in memory of a dear friend who passed away in 2018. In consultation with the family, we decided that the items would contain - but not show - cremated remains ("cremains"). We also decided that the pieces would be both beads and talismans, items that could be carried in a pocket, placed on a shelf or actually strung to be displayed. In total I made 24 pieces. The beads were wired as pendants on bails, the talismans were not.
I found this a meaningful and moving task. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this type of glass art in memory of a loved one.
